We started searching for the history of the Cretan people in Australia. We were wondering how the Cretans and Greeks arrived on the other side of the world. How did they migrate there and why? How did they live and how did they evolve?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Eyeq Creative Media team joined forces with the journalist Andriani Angelidaki. Following months of deep research they decide it the long journey \u201con the other side of the world\u201d. Filming in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. Afterwards, will continue the filming in Greece. Testimonies, interviews, include Cretans and Greeks that live in Australia, historians, prominent figures in the political and academic scene of the two countries.<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We wish to give a global view of events in order to create a complete historical record of immigration to Australia. We want to explore, reflect and answer the following questions: <\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Which were the factors that drove thousands of Greeks to immigrate to Australia? \n\nWhich are the relations between the two countries within the years?\n\nHow did the Greeks manage to integrate into Australian society and how did they keep their identity alive until today? \n\nHow did Australia welcome and integrate hundreds of different ethnicities which today constitute its social fabric? <\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
